Click Image For Related Information Peter was born on the Bruce Peninsula in Bruce County near Lion`s Head, Ontario. His family farmed 1,150 acres including cows/calves, stockers, sheep and horses. They also operated a fertilizer and farm supply business as well as a local slaughter business.
Peter graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1985. Upon graduation, Peter went to work at Kincardine Veterinary Services with Dr. Roger Thomson and learned about "horizontal snow" in a mixed animal practice. In 1989, he revisited his roots and went back to work on the family farm while working part-time with Dr. Chuck Robbins at Wiarton Veterinary Services which was also a mixed animal facility.
In 1990, Peter married Wanda Myles who was also born and raised on a farm on the Bruce Peninsula. When their son Landon was born they moved to Oro-Medonte where Peter continued his work as a veterinarian. From 1997 to 1999 Peter worked at another mixed animal practice in Orillia before deciding to become a full-time, mixed animal locum working in an assortment of practices throughout Ontario. In this capacity, he would temporarily work in another vets` practice during that veterinarian`s absence.
Peter is an accredited veterinarian with Canadian Food Inspection Agency. He is an appointed veterinarian under the Livestock Community Sales Act and the Food Safety and Quality Act
with OMAFRA.
Peter has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Honeywood since the Spring of 2003 as a locum and joined him as a partner in July, 2008.
